Learning is fun!

It may seem that learning Latin American dances is carefree and joyful, and all you need is to meet rhythmically moving Cubans who are always happy to accompany beginner dancers. But we offer you a more professional approach to this matter and invite you to take classes at a licensed dance academy.  In addition to the main salsa, which is the most popular and in demand dance, you will also be introduced to urban salsa, mambo, guaguancó, zouk, or kizomba. Perhaps you would like to perform a competitive program in cha-cha-cha, rumba, or tango. Or expand your knowledge of Caribbean rhythms and distinguish bachata, arocha, or merengue? The amazing world of fiery and passionate dances will open up to you with the help of professional dancers and a properly designed training course. Classes are held both at the Academy itself, at hotel venues such as Hotel Plaza, Hotel Park View, Hotel Lincoln, and also at students’ residences. Group lessons cost from $10 per hour, individual lessons from $18 per hour.

Dance courses: for those who have the opportunity to stay in Havana for a week or more, it is possible to take a dance course with a corresponding certificate.  This category has more time for training. First, a break-in and welcome cocktail are held to determine the level of beginner dancers and set tasks for the dance professor to focus on. During the seven days of the course, we have a package of activities to have fun and enjoy learning. This course costs $120 for one week.

What is Break-in?: It is a method by which, with the help of music, the abilities and difficulties of students are discovered, levels or possibilities for mastering dance technique, rhythm, and plasticity are identified. It provides both students and professors with knowledge for more targeted work and assistance in learning.

We also offer the Night Club service:  this is the opportunity for dance teachers to accompany students to Havana’s clubs and music houses. This allows you to immerse yourself in the city’s vibrant nightlife with guaranteed safety and, of course, dance practice in a real live environment. This service is provided in English and Spanish. The cost of the Night Club service is $50, which includes taxi to the club and back from the student’s residence.
