The hotel was founded back in 1860, then it was located on Amistad Street, where one of the first telegraph lines in the world passed. In 1889 the hotel was moved to the busy intersection of Neptuno and Prado streets, where it remains to this day. In 1911 the building was completely reconstructed; at that time the hotel was the most modern in Havana and was among the 11 best hotels in Latin America. Today, the windows of its comfortable rooms offer beautiful views of Old Havana. In the inner courtyard rise arches where elements of modern style contrast with the brick finish from the time of the hotel’s foundation. The exquisite Telegrafo restaurant specializes in signature Cuban cuisine and international dishes. The decoration and interiors of the hotel create a cozy atmosphere. It is one of the best hotels in the historical part of Havana in its category.
