Jibacoa — this natural wonder emerged on the northern coast of Mayabeque Province, 60 kilometers from the capital of the Republic of Cuba and 70 from Varadero. You can reach this place, cut off from other beach areas by sharp cliffs, through the small picturesque fishing village of Santa Cruz del Norte, famous for Cuba’s largest rum factory, known worldwide as “Havana Club.” The five-hundred-meter beach of remarkable beauty got its name from the rock “El Peñón del Jibacoa,” which separated it from the rest of the world. Going on vacation to Jibacoa, you will be able to enjoy its wonderful views by taking a walk through the nearby hills, some of which rise more than one hundred meters high. And the most pleasant part is that you can choose the type of walk to your liking: on foot, on horseback, or by bicycle.

By choosing a trip to Jibacoa, you give yourself the opportunity not only to relax on a secluded beach, basking in the rays of the Cuban sun. You also open the chance to personally discover the amazing and unique seabed, hiding countless wonders. Whether you choose beginner courses offered by the local diving center or prefer dives on the coral reef—it depends on you, but a wealth of enjoyment is guaranteed in any case. For the seabed of Jibacoa cannot be overlooked, having become a treasure for lovers of underwater swimming thanks to its numerous bays, reefs, and underwater grottoes. Even more tempting, however, may be the deep-sea dives to visit the wrecks of Jibacoa and Sparta. These ships (one once cargo, the other military) have lain sunken for about 20 years and have become favorite entertainment spots for divers, though they were once used for military training purposes.
